Qual R&R in Tzochar
We got to meet Jenna’s Israeli family! Dina and Tzachi were gracious hosts and we mostly spent the days snuggling with their French Mastiffs and eating chocolate by the Pool
Pride weekend with Nathan in TLV
Stayed in super cute studio apartment with Nathan. Listened to vinyl while Jen and Nathan cooked big Shabbat dinner for his friends in a teaching program. We all went out dancing and spent the weekend in the ocean, doing yoga, exploring the city and old Jaffa– we even got to see Ilana Goor herself at the Ilana Goor art museum/ collected works<33
CONGRATS TO NOMIE ON ISRAELI CITIZENSHIP
such a fun visit. Jen and I love the Florentine district and loved cousin time/ Tel Aviv nightlife/ yummy restaurants/ scooters
Cheffy babies!!!
Jendrez brought spices from India. Ella got us fresh veggies every day and we stole jarrrs of tahinaaa from the coop. We ate so well and were constantly hungry from working. Pasha even made cheese one night. The cultural mix of dishes was honestly soo impressive and an important part of volunteer bonding
Kiddish
volunteer fam in white. we <3 monochrome and felt fly n spiritual. Garin Harel, tha mixtape. In order from left to right: Jendrez (Poland), Johanna (Swiss/ German), Pasha (Russia), Me, James (Czech Republic), Eunsol (Korea), Jen. Everyone had different reasons for coming to Israel. Of the volunteers, Jenna and I were the only people of Jewish descent. Also rip @devilsticks I got from market man in TLV:( I accidentally left them at Garin Harel where they probably truly belong
The whole community (including lots of babies) played kirtan style music and ate yummy potluck food in the domes.
We also had meditation class and others: “spiritual conversations”, “awareness in action” in these domes. Classes were provided for free in exchange for volunteering- in addition to room and board- and were lead by various community members.
Happy birthday johanna
The power went out, so Jen had to fry the pie.
Also the night of reflections/ shifuk in which we have one on one meetings with a seer from the community. Seers are trained to use their third eyes in order to sense energies and answer questions or provide life guidance. My seer’s name was Ofek. He said that he had trained for four years to be able to harness the abilities he has now. The electricity came back on during the part of our session in which we were talking about my creative self, and overall I had a beautiful and fascinating experience.
While my guitar gently sweeps
